Miss Black and Gold Scholarship Pageant to be held Thursday

VALDOSTA -- Valdosta State University’s Mu Omicron Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. will host the 2011 Miss Black and Gold Scholarship Pageant Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom.

The pageant will feature eight contestants who are charged with creating individual philanthropic platforms and developing plans to implement those platforms. Contestants will also be judged based on their interview skills and their performances during the talent portion of the pageant.

The winner of the pageant will receive a scholarship and the opportunity to compete for Miss Black and Gold at the district, regional and national levels.
